วันนี้(30 ม.ค.) เมื่อเวลา 20.00 น.ที่ร้านครัวจิตประภัสสร แขวงลาดยาว เขตจตุจักร พรรคก้าวไกล แถลงข่าวผลการเลือกตั้งซ่อมเขตจตุจักร-หลักสี่ นำโดย นายพิธา ลิ้มเจริญรัตน์ หัวหน้าพรรค, นายชัยธวัช ตุลาธน เลขาธิการพรรค, นายพิจารณ์ เชาวพัฒนวงศ์ รองหัวหน้าพรรค และนายกรุณพล เทียนสุวรรณ ผู้สมัครรับเลือกตั้งซ่อม เขตจุตจักร-หลักสี่ เบอร์ 6 โดยมี ส.ส. พร้อมด้วยว่าที่ผู้สมัคร ส.ก. และทีมอาสาสมัครสังเกตการณ์เลือกตั้งของพรรค ร่วมด้วยเป็นจำนวนมาก
นายพิธา กล่าวว่า ก่อนอื่นขอแสดงความยินดีกับนายสุรชาติ เทียนทอง และพรรคเพื่อไทย รวมถึงยินดีกับพี่น้องจตุจักร-หลักสี่ ที่จะได้นายสุรชาติเข้าไปทำงาน ในส่วนพรรคก้าวไกล ต้องขอบคุณทุกคะแนนเสียงที่มอบให้ เพชร กรุณพล และพรรคก้าวไกล แม้เรายังไม่ได้เป็นผู้ชนะ แต่ถือว่าเดินมาถูกทางแล้ว และผลการเลือกตั้งครั้งนี้ เป็นการยืนยันว่าการมีอยู่ของพรรคก้าวไกล การมีอยู่ของนักการเมืองแบบนี้ เป็นสิ่งที่ประชาชนต้องการ และเมื่อดูจากเปอร์เซ็นต์คะแนนเสียงที่ได้รับ ในการเลือกตั้งปี 2562 เราได้ 20 เปอร์เซ็นต์ ครั้งนี้ได้ 24 เปอร์เซ็นต์ มากกว่าครั้งที่แล้ว ขอบคุณพี่น้องทุกคนที่ให้ความไว้วางใจ
“นอกจากนี้ นโยบายเกี่ยวกับการปฏิรูปกองทัพ ก็ถือว่าเป็นที่ตอบรับดีมาก เพราะคะแนนเสียงจากในค่ายทหารในสมัยอนาคตใหม่เราได้ 26 เปอร์เซ็นต์ ครั้งนี้เพิ่มเป็น 35 เปอร์เซ็นต์ นั่นแสดงให้เห็นว่า พี่น้องทหารเห็นด้วยกับสิ่งที่เราจะทำให้กองทัพทันสมัย เป็นทหารมืออาชีพ ชีวิตของทหารชั้นผู้น้อยดีขึ้น ชัดเจนว่า นโยบายปฏิรูปกองทัพที่เรานำเสนอดีขึ้นและดีขึ้นเรื่อยๆ แม้จะมีใครพยายามสร้างภาพว่าพรรคก้าวไกลกับทหารเป็นปฏิปักษ์กัน คิดว่าเลิกพูดแบบนั้นได้แล้ว เพราะแท้จริงเราพยายามทำให้ทหารมีสวัสดิการสวัสดิภาพที่ดีอยู่ได้อย่างมีศักด์ศรี ทั้งนี้ เราตั้งใจที่จะทำงานอย่างมุ่งมั่นต่อไปสำหรับการเลือกตั้งใหญ่ เพื่อสร้างความเปลี่ยนแปลงประเทศนี้” นายพิธา กล่าว

ด้าน นายกรุณพล กล่าวว่า ก่อนอื่นต้องของแสดงความยินดีกับนายสุรชาติ ซึ่งเท่าที่ได้เจอและรู้จักกัน เห็นว่าเป็นคนตั้งใจทำงาน ดีใจกับชาวจตุจักร-หลักสี่ที่ได้ผู้แทนคนนี้ สำหรับตน ขอขอบคุณประชาชนจตุจักร-หลักสี่ ที่ทำให้ได้รูัจักการเมืองไทยมากขึ้น ได้ซึมซับถึงปัญหาที่พ่อแม่พี่น้องมีอยู่ ซึ่งเยอะมากและทำให้เราอยากเข้าไปช่วยแก้ไขปัญหา หลังจากนี้ ตนจะได้ออกไปขอบคุณทุกคะแนนเสียงที่มอบให้ และที่สำคัญขอบคุณทีมพรรคก้าวไกลทุกคนที่มาช่วยกัน ทำให้ได้ซึมซับความเป็นครอบครัวของพรรคก้าวไกลจากทุกคน ทำให้พื้นที่นี้ได้มีแสงสว่างความหวังอีกครั้ง และพวกเราพรรคก้าวไกลจะได้ผลักดันนโยบายเพื่อช่วยเหลือประชาชนต่อไป ทั้งนี้ จากประสบการณ์ที่ได้รับ 45 วัน นี้ ดีใจที่จะได้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งการเมืองไทย และยืนยัน เลือกตั้งใหญ่ครั้งหน้าจะได้เห็นเพชร กรุณพล เป็น ส.ส.กรุงเทพมหานคร อย่างแน่นอน

“จากนี้ ผมจะยังคงทำงานอย่างต่อเนื่อง จะเดินทางไปรับฟังปัญหาของพ่อแม่พี่น้องประชาชนให้มากขึ้น เพราะที่ผ่านมาอาจจะมีเวลาน้อยที่ได้ไปในพื้นที่ จากนี้เวลาสภาผู้แทนราษฎรเหลืออีก 1 ปี ตั้งใจว่าจะทำงานหนัก ประชาชนจะได้เห็นหน้าของผมมากขึ้น และบางทีอาจจะมากกว่าคนในครอบครัวของผมด้วยซ้ำ” กรุณพล กล่าว

ขณะที่ นายชัยธวัช กล่าวว่า จากนี้ไป งานในสภาผู้แทนราษฎร เราจะรักษามาตรฐานไว้ ขณะเดียวกันก็เชื่อว่าอีกไม่เกิน 1 ปี รัฐบาลจะยุบสภา เพราะลากต่อไปอีกไม่ได้แล้ว เนื่องจากความไม่พอใจของประชาชนและความขัดแย้งภายในของรัฐบาลเอง ดังนั้นในระยะเวลา 1 ปีนี้ สิ่งที่เราต้องทำคือการเตรียมผู้สมัครทั้งประเทศ รวมถึงเตรียมงานนโยบายที่จะสามารถทำให้ได้รับความไว้วางใจไม่ยิ่งหย่อนกว่าสมัยเป็นพรรคอนาคตใหม่ โดยเฉพาะในสถานการณ์โควิดที่ประชาชนได้รับผลกระทบจากความผิดพลาดและไร้ประสิทธิภาพของรัฐบาล

วันนี้ (30 ม.ค.65) เมื่อเวลา 20.30 น. นายสุรชาติ เทียนทอง ผู้สมัครเบอร์ 3 จากพรรคเพื่อไทย พร้อมด้วยแกนนำพรรคนำโดย นพ.ชลน่าน ศรีแก้ว หัวหน้าพรรคเพื่อไทย ได้แถลงประกาศชัยชนะเลือกตั้งซ่อม ส.ส.กทม.เขต 9 เขตหลักสี่-จตุจักร ภายหลังจากทราบผลคะแนนอย่างไม่เป็นทางการว่า มีคะแนนนำเป็นอันดับ 1

นายสุรชาติ กล่าวว่า ขอกราบขอบพระคุณพี่น้องประชาชนในเขตหลักสี่และจตุจักรที่ออกมาใช้สิทธิ์ โดยทุกคะแนนเสียงไม่สามารถบอกความรู้สึกตนเองได้หมด ส่วนตัวอยากขอบคุณท่านหัวหน้าพรรค เลขาฯ พรรค  และ ผอ.การเลือกตั้ง รวมถึงพรรคเพื่อไทยที่ให้โอกาสขอบคุณผู้สมัครจากทุกพรรคที่ได้ลงสมัครถือเป็นเกียรติสำหรับตนมาก ทั้งนี้ ขอขอบคุณ นายกรุณพล เทียนสุวรรณ ผู้สมัครพรรคก้าวไกลที่มีไมตรีให้กันมาตลอด และขอให้ถือว่าชัยชนะครั้งนี้เป็นชัยชนะร่วมกัน ส่วน นายอรรถวิชช์ สุวรรณภักดี จากพรรคกล้า ที่เป็นคนมีความสามารถทุกด้าน และเป็นคนหนึ่งที่เหมาะสมกับตำแหน่ง ส.ส. รวมถึงนางสรัลรัศมิ์ เจนจาคะ จากพรรคพลังประชารัฐ ขอบคุณผู้สมัครทุกพรรคการเมืองที่ทำการเมืองอย่างสร้างสรรค์

เมื่อถามว่า ชัยชนะครั้งนี้เป็นบทพิสูจน์การทำงานตลอด 17 ปีที่ผ่านมาหรือไม่ นายสุรชาติ กล่าวว่า สำหรับตนชัยชนะครั้งนี้สำคัญที่สุด เพราะเป็นการคืนศักดิ์ศรีให้ชาวหลักสี่-จตุจักร และเป็นการแสดงให้เห็นว่าถ้าเราตั้งใจรับใช้พี่น้องประชาชนจริงๆ ไม่ว่าจะผ่านเวลามายาวนานขนาดไหน หรือแพ้การเลือกตั้งกี่ครั้งก็ตาม ประชาชนก็จะให้โอกาส ซึ่งตนจะจำตรงนี้ไว้ ตนจะต้องทำงานรับใช้พี่ป้าน้าอาทุกคน โดยวันพรุ่งนี้ (31 ม.ค.65) เราจะไปแห่ขอบคุณพี่น้องชาวจตุจักร-หลักสี่ทุกคน และสำหรับตนในช่วงเวลาสภาฯที่เหลือตนจะเดินด้วย 2 เท้าเข้าไปรับฟังปัญหาของพี่น้องประชาชนทุกคน

เมื่อถามถึงภารกิจแรกของการทำงานในตำแหน่ง ส.ส.ของนายสุรชาตินั้น นพ.ชลน่าน กล่าวว่า หลังจากที่ได้เห็นนายสุรชาติปราศรัยบนเวทีหาเสียงด้วยความมุ่งมั่นตั้งใจ และนำเสนอประเด็นปัญหาข้อเท็จจริงได้เป็นอย่างไร หากนายสุรชาติได้รับการรับรองจาก กกต.ทันการเปิดอภิปรายรัฐบาลโดยไม่ลงมติตามมาตรา 152 จะได้เห็นนายสุรชาติร่วมอภิปรายรัฐบาลในโอกาสนี้ด้วย

จากนั้น นพ.ชลน่าน และนายสุรชาติ พร้อมแกนนำพรรคเพื่อไทย ได้ประกาศชัยชนะร่วมกัน ท่ามกลางความยินดีของผู้สนับสนุน.

AT&T adds $45 / month unlimited prepaid plan with 5G that you can only get at Walmart

AT&T has a new Unlimited Max prepaid plan with 5G, and it’s available at Walmart for $45 / month. The plan comes with unlimited 5G data, unlimited talk and text, 100GB of cloud storage, HD streaming, and 10GB of available data when using your phone as a mobile hot spot.

AT&T’s lowest-priced unlimited 5G plan available outside of Walmart (which doesn’t even come with HD streaming) will cost you $65 / month. While the Walmart-only Unlimited Max plan does allow for HD streaming, it streams in standard definition by default. You can stream in HD by turning off Stream Saver (a mode that plays video in 480p to save data) on AT&T’s prepaid site, or by calling 611. For comparison, several standard prepaid unlimited 5G plans, like Metro by T-Mobile’s $50 / month plan, Mint Mobile’s $40 / month plan (for three months), Cricket’s $55 / month plan, and Visible by Verizon’s $40 / month plan all don’t come with an option to stream in HD.

The carrier is also offering prepaid phones at a discount

AT&T is also offering its other prepaid plans at a discount if activated at Walmart. This includes its 15GB plan for $35 / month instead of $40, as well as its 5GB plan for $25 / month instead of $30. The company notes that customers who qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) can use up to $30 of their subsidy to pay for AT&T’s prepaid plan, making the 5GB plan free if the subsidy is applied.

In addition, the carrier is also offering prepaid phones at a discount, including the Motorola Moto G Pure for $19 (compared to $69), the Samsung Galaxy A03s for $29 (compared to $79), Samsung Galaxy A12 for $69 (compared to $119), iPhone SE for $149 (compared $249), and the iPhone 11 for $299 (compared to $399). The discounted prices for the iPhone SE and iPhone 11 require customers to activate the Unlimited Max plan in Walmart, while the rest of the discounts apply when customers activate any monthly AT&T prepaid plan in Walmart.

AT&T also has three 5G devices available at Walmart, but they don’t come with a discount: the AT&T Radiant Max 5G ($149), Motorola One 5G Ace ($199), and the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G ($199).

Camilla Parker Bowles replaces Meghan Markle as royal patron of National Theatre

The Duchess of Cornwall has been named royal patron at the National Theatre, a role previously held by the Duchess of Sussex.

In 2019, Meghan Markle was given the role by the Queen and went on two hold it for two years until she and Prince Harry stepped down as working members of the royal family.

During Meghan’s tenure in the role, she undertook one public engagement in January 2019 and visited again on a private basis in March 2020.

Camilla, 74, has previously expressed her passion for the theatre industry.

At the Olivier Awards in October 2020, she delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the industry and acknowledging the strain it had been put under by the pandemic.

“I believe in theatre. It’s the cornerstone of a fertile cultural life, a forum for debate and a powerful means of building community,” she said.

“Perhaps more importantly, those of us who believe in the theatre also believe in its resilience. I should like to thank those of you whose profession is in the theatre for your determination and flexibility.”

Camilla concluded: “Please remain resilient. We need you, and we’ve missed you.”

The new role comes after it was announced Camilla would guest-edit an issue of Country Life magazine to mark her 75th birthday.

Camilla will take the reins for the publication’s July edition, for which she will include her favourite recipe and her favourite view.

An eager animal-lover – the 74-year-old is also the patron of Battersea Dogs and Cats home in addition to being an equestrian and a dog-owner herself – Camilla will also take the opportunity to celebrate animals in the edition.

Kansas woman accused of leading all-female battalion of Isis fighters and planning attack on US college

A mother who lived in Kansas has been arrested on charges of being a member of Isis – and of having led an all-female battalion of militants trained in the use of AK 47s, grenades and suicide belts.

Allison Fluke-Ekren was turned over to the FBI on Friday and is due to appear in court in Alexandria, Virginia, on Monday. The circumstances of her arrest were not immediately released although she is known to have been living in Egypt in recent years.

The 42-year-old is also suspected of having tried to recruit militants to launch an attack on a college campus in the US or a shopping mall.

A criminal complaint against her was filed under seal in 2019 but was only made public on Saturday after she was returned to the country to face charges.

The US Attorney in Alexandria said she had been charged with providing material support to a terrorist organisation.

The FBI claims in an affidavit that she became leader of an all-female Isis battalion called Khatiba Nusaybah in the Syrian city of Raqqa in 2016. Members were trained in the use of firearms, grenades and suicide vests.

She is also accused of teaching children to use assault weapons. A witness cited in a detention memo says one of her children, aged about five or six, was seen in her home handling a weapon.

In the memo US Attorney Raj Parekh writes: “Fluke-Ekren has been a fervent believer in the radical terrorist ideology of ISIS for many years, having traveled to Syria to commit or support violent jihad. Fluke-Ekren translated her extremist beliefs into action by serving as the appointed leader and organizer of an ISIS military battalion, directly training women and children in the use of AK-47 assault rifles, grenades, and suicide belts to support the Islamic State’s murderous aims.”

She reportedly moved to Egypt in 2008 and travelled between there and the United States for several years, although she has apparently not been in the US since 2011.

Ms Fluke-Ekren is thought to have moved to Syria in 2012. Her husband was killed in the Syrian city of Tell Abyad while trying to carry out a terrorist attack, US prosecutors say, after which she married a Bangladeshi Isis member who specialised in drones. He is thought to have been killed in 2016 or 2017.

After his death she is believed to have married a senior Isis member who was responsible for the defence of Raqqa.

US and British forces have been engaged in some of the heaviest fighting against Isis forces in Syria since the fall of the self-declared caliphate in 2019.

Clashes began on Thursday when hundreds of Isis fighters attacked a prison in the northeastern Syrian city of Hassakeh in an attempt to free an estimated 3,000 of their fellow fighters, who have been detained there since the extremist group was defeated in its last stronghold in March 2019.

State trooper who told governor to ‘kiss my ass’ over vaccine order dies of Covid

A state trooper who left his job over a vaccine mandate, telling Washington state governor Jay Inslee to “kiss my ass”, has died of Covid.

Robert LeMay, 51, was fired in October over his refusal to get the jab and filmed a video of himself hitting out at Mr Inslee.

In the video he says: “This is my final sign-off. After 22 years of serving the citizens of the state of Washington, I’m being asked to leave because I am dirty.

On Friday Washington State Patrol Chief John R Batiste released a statement saying the former trooper had died.

Chief Batiste wrote: “I am deeply saddened over the news that our former friend and colleague Trooper Robert LaMay has passed away. This agency’s prayers and remembrances are with his family and loved ones. Rob served honorably for over two decades and we were disappointed to see him leave the agency this past October. His service to this state and agency will be long remembered and appreciated.

“Let us now remember our old friend, support his family and loved ones, give thanks for his service, and resolve to meet the challenges ahead with continuing duty, dignity and respect.”

Last year it was reported that Covid had become the single biggest cause of death for police and law enforcement officers across the US, even as associations representing them fought against vaccine mandates.

CBS News reported that nearly two dozen police professionals died from Covid in just one month – October 2021 – while a total of 301 of the 458 police officers who died in the line of duty in 2021 were lost to Covid, according to the New York Times.

This made last year the deadliest for police officers in the US in more than 90 years and represented a 55 per cent increase on the previous year, the paper said. It is thought that at least 460 law enforcement officers in the US have died of Covid since the pandemic began.

Parents spared jail after driving through flood that killed three children

The Arizona parents whose three children were killed when the family drove through a flood in Tonto Creek were spared prison on Thursday, and were instead given five years of probation.

Daniel Rawlings, 38, had pleaded guilty to three counts of manslaughter and seven counts of child abuse. Lacey Rawlings, 34, pleaded guilty to seven counts of child abuse.

Judge Timothy Wright’s decision was influenced in the Gila County courtroom by the parent’s other children, who walked up to the podium and asked the judge if their parents could stay home with them.

“I love everything about my parents,” said 12-year-old Nelly Rawlings.

“My life wouldn’t be the same without them,” said Dallan Rawlings, 13.

Nelly said her mom was her favourite person. While her dad was a hard-working man who wants the best for his family.

The Rawlings ignored signs and barricades to warn motorists not to cross the water, and drove the family into Tonto Creek the day after Thanksgiving in 2019 during a flood. Their actions killed 5-year-old Colby and 6-year-old Willa, and their cousin, 5-year-old Austin. Four of the children in the car were rescued, but three could not be saved.

The family had crossed the creek in a military-style car on their way back home from celebrating with extended family. Their son had pleaded with them to go into the water again, as it was “fun”, the court heard via an audio recording of Lacey Rawlings. They drove into another area of the creek but the vehicle became submerged.

The community and other family members supported the Rawlings in their case, stating that losing children was punishment enough, and their other children deserve stability. “They deserve two healthy parents who can advocate and support them emotionally,” said Lauren Johnston, the mom of one of the children who died. “I want Daniel and Lacey to know that I do forgive them. I will never understand, but I forgive you for taking my daughter from me.”

Kathryn Mahady, the Lacey attorney, said: “Simply put, for the surviving children to recover as much as possible from the trauma and loss they experienced, it is crucial that Lacey and Daniel remain in the home with the family to continue the family’s hard work of coping with unimaginable grief.”

The parents could have collectively served 100 years in prison for their guilty pleas.

Gila County is building a bridge over Tonto Creek to help prevent fatalities, more than eight people have died crossing the creek since the 1990s.

วันนี้ (28 ม.ค. 65) ที่เวทีปราศรัยชั่วคราวสวนสาธารณะเคหะทุ่งสองห้อง พรรคเพื่อไทยจัดปราศรัยใหญ่ช่วย นายสุรชาติ เทียนทอง ผู้สมัครรับเลือกตั้งซ่อม ส.ส. เขต 9 กทม. เขตหลักสี่-จตุจักร เบอร์ 3 พรรคเพื่อไทย หาเสียงช่วงโค้งสุดท้าย ก่อนถึงวันลงคะแนนในวันที่ 30 ม.ค. 65 นี้ โดย นายสุรชาติ ได้ขึ้นปราศรัยตอนหนึ่งว่า การเป็น ส.ส.เป็นความฝันเดียว ซึ่งที่ผ่านมาพี่น้องประชาชนเคยช่วยกันทำให้ฝันนั้นเป็นจริงมาแล้วครั้งหนึ่ง แต่วันนี้่มีฝันที่ยิ่งใหญ่กว่า คือ อยากเป็นผู้แทนราษฎร ที่จะทำงานรับใช้ประชาชน เพื่อทำให้คุณภาพชีวิตของพี่น้องประชาชนดีขึ้น แต่เรื่องนี้ไม่สามารถทำคนเดียวได้ พี่น้องประชาชนและพรรคเพื่อไทย หากร่วมมือกันจะทำได้

นายสุรชาติ ยังได้กล่าวถึงการออกมาพูดถึงนโยบายค่ารถไฟฟ้า 20 บาทตลอดสาย ในระหว่างการด้วยว่า เมื่อครั้งเป็น ส.ส. ปี 2554 ในช่วง 2 ปีกว่าๆ นั้น ได้มีส่วนในการผลักดันโครงการรถไฟฟ้าสายสีแดง โดยมีโอกาสเข้าพบอดีตนายกฯ ยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตร เพื่อขอให้พิจารณาอนุมัติสร้างรถไฟฟ้าสายสีแดง ในยุคที่พรรคเพื่อไทยเป็นรัฐบาลให้ได้ เพราะมีความสำคัญกับพี่น้องประชาชนชาว กทม. 3-4 เขต รวมไปถึงพี่น้องในปริมณฑล ก็จะได้ใช้ประโยชน์ และสุดท้ายรถไฟฟ้าสายสีแดง ก็ได้รับการอนุมัติให้ก่อสร้างในสมัยรัฐบาลพรรคเพื่อไทย ที่นำโดยอดีตนายกฯ ยิ่งลักษณ์ แต่วันนี้พี่น้องประชาชนในพื้นที่เขตหลักสี่ส่วนใหญ่แทบจะไม่ได้ใช้รถไฟฟ้าสายสีแดง เนื่องจากราคาค่าโดยสารยังคงสูงเกินไป ทั้งที่เราสร้างรถไฟฟ้ามาเพื่อให้ประชาชนทุกคนได้ใช้ ไม่ได้สร้างเอาไว้เป็นอนุสาวรีย์หรือให้เฉพาะคนที่มีเงินได้ใช้

“ใครก็ตามที่พยายามร้องเรียนเรื่องนี้ หรือพยายามดึงให้ผมเข้าสู่ความขัดแย้งนั้น คงไม่สามารถทำตามเป้าหมายได้ เพราะตลอดเวลาที่ผ่านมา 17 ปี พี่น้องประชาชนรับรู้ดีว่าการทำงานทั้งหมดเป็นการทำเพื่อประชาชน และการหาเสียงครั้งนี้เพื่อกลับเข้าสภาฯไปทำงานรับใช้ประชาชน” นายสุรชาติ กล่าว

นายสุรชาติ กล่าวย้ำด้วยว่า การเมืองของตน คือ การให้เกียรติประชาชน นโยบายก็ต้องเป็นนโยบายที่ให้เกียรติประชาชน สำหรับตนนโยบายที่ให้เกียรติประชาชนเช่นนั้น คือ นโยบาย SML ที่ให้พี่น้องประชาชนได้มีอำนาจในการใช้งบประมาณและตัดสินใจแก้ปัญหาในชุมชนด้วยตัวเอง นี่คือจุดเริ่มต้นของประชาธิปไตยและการให้เกียรติประชาชน แล้วขณะนั้นตนได้ใช้ความเป็นผู้แทนราษฎรเข้าไปร่วมประสานงานโครงการนี้ ซึ่งเขตหลักสี่ เป็นพื้นที่ที่ทำโครงการ SML ได้มากที่สุดใน กทม.

นายสุรชาติ กล่าวอีกว่า อีกเรื่องที่ตนพูดเสมอ คือ การปฏิรูประบบราชการ ตนใช้เวลา 17 ปี เป็นผู้รับใช้ประชาชน ทุกครั้งที่เห็นนักการเมือง หรือข้าราชการทำตัวเหนือประชาชน ตนจะเดินไปบอกเสมอว่าไม่มีใครอยู่เหนือประชาชนได้ ดังนั้น การเปลี่ยนแปลงจะต้องเกิดขึ้น แต่การเปลี่ยนแปลงนั้นจะไม่ใช่การทำลายล้าง แต่จะเปลี่ยนแปลงด้วยทัศนคติที่ดี

“ผมเชื่อว่า พรรคเพื่อไทยที่เคยปฏิรูประบบราชการครั้งใหญ่มาแล้ว ซึ่งไม่เพียงทำให้ประชาชนมีความสุข แต่พี่น้องข้าราชการก็มีความสุขมากขึ้นด้วย และเราจะทำอีกครั้งหนึ่ง” ผู้สมัครเบอร์ 3 พรรคเพื่อไทย กล่าว

ในตอนท้าย นายสุรชาติ กล่าวว่า 17 ปีที่ผ่านมา ตนล้มลุกคลุกคลาน ผิดหวังมากกว่าสมหวัง เมื่อ 3 ปีที่แล้ววันที่แพ้การเลือกตั้ง วันต่อมาผมขึ้นรถแห่ขอบคุณทุกคะแนนเสียงที่พี่ป้าน้าอามอบให้ วันนั้นเป็นวันที่ตนต้องเสียน้ำตา เพราะไม่ว่าตนจะไปจุดไหน ก็จะมีพี่ป้าน้าอามาร้องไห้กับความพ่ายแพ้ของตน แต่นั้นคือสิ่งที่ทำให้ตนมีกำลังใจในการออกไปหาพี่ป้าน้าอาทุกวัน และบอกตัวเองว่าวันนี้จะแพ้ไม่ได้อีกแล้ว

“ผมจะต้องชนะเพื่อทวงศักดิ์ศรีให้พี่ป้าน้าอา และพี่น้องคนหลักสี่ คนจตุจักร ทุกคน วันอาทิตย์ที่ 30 ม.ค.นี้ เราจะชนะไปด้วยกัน แล้วผมจะแบกเอาศักดิ์ศรีคนหลักสี่ และคนจตุจักรเข้าสภาฯ” นายสุรชาติ กล่าวทิ้งท้าย

Activist Petitions Nigerian Senate Over APC Member Nominated By Buhari As INEC Commissioner

The Convener of Concerned Nigerians group, Deji Adeyanju, has petitioned the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, over the nomination of Prof Rhoda Gumus as a Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Adeyanju stated that Gumus is a card-carrying member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who cannot be approved to serve as a top official of the nation’s electoral body, saying such will portend a threat to democracy.

The human rights advocate stated that such an arrangement, “runs contrary to the provisions of Paragraph 14 of Part 1 of the Third Schedule to the Constitution as amended by Section 30, Act No 1 of 2010, which prohibits the appointment of a member of a political party as an Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) commissioner.”

He disclosed that the same condition that was applicable to the nomination of Ms Lauretta Onochie which was widely criticised still stood on the nomination of Gumus.

Adeyanju revealed these in a letter obtained by SaharaReporters and addressed to the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan and copied to the US Ambassador to Nigeria, UK High Commissioner In Nigeria and Head of Mission European Union In Nigeria.

It read, “We write, in our capacity, as a citizen led human right organization to offer a timely warning on the proposed confirmation of Prof. Rhoda Gumus as an INEC commissioner, in clear violation of the provisions of the extant Electoral Act and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).

“You will recall that a few days ago, President Muhammadu Buhari conveyed the name of Prof Gumus to the Nigeria senate for confirmation as an INEC commissioner.

“While we recognise Prof. Gumus’s professional capabilities, we, however, which to state that her nomination runs contrary to the provisions of Paragraph 14 of Part 1 of the Third Schedule to the Constitution as amended by Section 30, Act No 1 of 2010, which prohibits the appointment of a member of a political party as an Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) commissioner. On March 27, 2021, Prof Gumus registered as a card carrying member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as evidenced in her annexed APC’s membership card.

“You will also recall that, in what appears to be a disturbing pattern, a few months ago, President Buhari nominated Ms. Lauretta Onochie as an INEC Commissioner. The nomination was greeted with uproar across the political, religious and civil society divide, as a result of Ms. Onochie documented partisanship. Consequently, we submitted a petition to the National Assembly against her nomination, on the basis of which the National Assembly commendably rejected her nomination.

“However, despite the criticism that trailed Ms. Onochie’s nomination, we are deeply worried to note that the president, has, once again, nominated another card carrying member of the APC, as INEC commissioner. This is a direct threat to the nation’s electoral process and the ultimate security of Nigeria as a democratic nation.

“With the foregoing in mind, we, therefore, strongly urge that Prof. Gumus’ nomination be rejected, on grounds of her obvious partisanship. You may note that Paragraph 14 of Part 1 of the Third Schedule to the Constitution as amended by Section 30, Act No 1 of 2010, states that a member of the Independent National Electoral Commission shall be non-partisan.

“We wish to draw your attention to the fact that elections in Nigeria usually determine, to a large extent, the Nation’s fate. Accordingly, the senate must follow the precedent set in Ms. Onochie’s case by rejecting Prof. Gumus’ nomination. In the light of the foregoing, we hereby request that you take urgent steps to safeguard the nation’s present and future electoral process, by declining the nomination of Prof. Gumus’ as an INEC Commission.

“Please find attached to this petition, copies of the following documents evidencing Prof. Gumus partisanship;

“a. A copy of her APC membership registration card; b. A copy of Prof. Gumus’ ward APC register showing her name at no. 27; c. Newspaper publications containing congratulatory messages to Prof. Gumus on her appointment. We urge you to safeguard our democracy.”

“ตรีนุช” สั่งเลื่อนประชุมบอร์ด สกสค.หลายตลบ นัดใหม่ 8 โมงเช้าพรุ่งนี้ (28 ม.ค.) ตัดวาระประชุมทิ้งหมด เหลือวาระตั้งรักษาการ “เลขาฯสกสค.” เรื่องเดียว หลัง “ธนพร” ร่อนหนังสือไขก๊อก แต่สัญญาจ้างยังล็อกให้ทำงานต่ออีก 90 วัน “คนศึกษาฯ” จับตา “บิ๊ก ศธ.” กล้าร่วมล้างบาง “เลขาฯสกสค.” ที่ตั้งในยุค “ครูตั้น”​ หรือไม่

วันนี้ (27 ม.ค.65) รายงานข่าวจากกระทรวงศึกษาธิการแจ้งว่า น.ส.ตรีนุช เทียนทอง รมว.ศึกษาธิการ ในฐานะประธานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมสวัสดิการและสวัสดิภาพครูและบุคลากรทางการศึกษา (บอร์ด สกสค.) ได้สั่งการให้ ปลัดกระทรวงศึกษาธิการ ประสานไปยังสำนักงาน สกสค.เพื่อให้นัดหมายประชุมบอร์ด สกสค.ในวันที่ 28 ม.ค.65 เวลา 08.00 น. ทั้งนี้เดิมที น.ส.ตรีนุช ได้สั่งการให้นัดประชุมบอร์ด สกสค.เมื่อวันที่ 26 ม.ค.65 แต่ก็ได้สั่งการให้เลื่อนประชุมอย่างกะทันหันไปเป็นวันที่ 31 ม.ค.65 ก่อนจะสั่งการอีกครั้งให้เลื่อนประชุมบอร์ด สกสค.มาเป็นวันที่ 28 ม.ค.65 เวลา 08.00 น.
รายงานข่าวแจ้งด้วยว่า ในหนังสือเชิญประชุมได้แนบระเบียบวาระการประชุมไว้เพียงเรื่องเดียวในข้อ 4.1 เรื่องแต่งตั้งผู้รักษาการแทนเลขาธิการ สกสค. ซึ่งต่างจากระเบียบวาระการประชุมที่เคยนัดหมายเมื่อวันที่ 26 ม.ค.65 ที่พบว่า มีการกำหนดวาระการประชุมในหลายเรื่องที่เกี่ยวกับภารกิจของ สกสค. อาทิ การรับรองรายงานการประชุม, รายงานการติดตามผลการดำเนินงานตามงบประมาณประจำปีงบประมาณ 2564 ของสำนักงาน สกสค., การขออนุมัติแผนปฏิบัติราชการและแผนการใช้จ่ายงบประมาณประจำปีงบประมาณ 2565 ของสำนักงาน สกสค. และการสรรหาผู้อำนวยการ สกสค. กรุงเทพมหานคร เป็นต้น
โดยวันนี้ (27 ม.ค.) น.ส.ตรีนุช ได้ให้สัมภาษณ์ถึงกรณีเลขาธิการ สกสค.ว่า การประชุมบอร์ด สกสค.เร็วๆนี้ จะพิจารณาผู้ที่จะมาปฏิบัติหน้าที่รักษาการเลขาธิการ สกสค.
ผู้สื่อข่าวรายงานว่า สำหรับเลขาธิการ สกสค.คนปัจจุบัน คือ นายธนพร สมศรี ซึ่งตกเป็นประเด็นขัดแย้งกับ น.ส.ตรีนุช จากการไม่เข้าร่วมการประเมินผลงาน และการประเมินผลสัมฤทธิ์การปฏิบัติงานของเลขาธิการ สกสค.ในรอบปีงบประมาณ 2564 เนื่องจากเห็นว่าเหณฑ์ประเมินฯไม่เป็นธรรม และอยู่ในระหว่างร้องขอความเป็นธรรมต่อนายกรัฐมนตรี ซึ่งคณะกรรมการประเมินผลงานฯได้ทำหนังสือแจ้งว่า นายธนพรไม่เข้าร่วมการประเมินผลงานฯถึง น.ส.ตรีนุช ในฐานะประธานบอร์ด สกสค.เพื่อให้พิจารณาแล้ว ตั้งแต่ช่วงต้นเดือน ม.ค.65 ก่อนที่นายธนพรจะทำหนังสือลาออกจากตำแหน่งเลขาธิการ สกสค.แล้วเมื่อวันที่ 21 ม.ค.ที่ผ่านมา
อย่างไรก็ตาม ผู้อำนวยการสำนักนิติการ สกสค.ได้ระบุถึงการลาออกของนายธนพรว่า นายธนพรยังคงต้องปฏิบัติหน้าที่อยู่จนกว่าจะพ้นตำแหน่งในอีก 90 วัน เพราะถือเป็นการบอกเลิกสัญญาโดยลูกจ้างตามข้อ 7.2 ในสัญญาจ้างที่ นายธนพร ในฐานะลูกจ้าง ลงนามไว้กับ รมว.ศึกษาธิการ ในฐานะนายจ้าง ตั้งแต่เมื่อครั้งเข้ารับตำแหน่งเมื่อเดือน ก.ย.63 ที่ระบุว่า “ลูกจ้างมีสิทธิบอกเลิกสัญญาจ้างได้โดยแจ้งเหตุผลในการขอเลิกสัญญาเป็นหนังสือต่อนายจ้างล่วงหน้าเป็นเวลาไม่น้อยกว่า 90 วัน”
ผู้สื่อข่าวรายงานว่า ก่อนหน้านี้ นายดิศกุล เกษมสวัสดิ์ อดีตเลขาธิการคุรุสภา ที่ถูกบอร์ดคุรุสภา ที่มี น.ส.ตรีนุช เป็นประธาน บอกเลิกสัญญาจ้างเนื่องจากไม่ผ่านการประเมินผลงานฯได้ระบุผ่านเฟซบุ๊กส่วนตัวว่า “มีธงในการประเมินให้เลขาธิการคุรุสภา และเลขาธิการ สกสค.ตก เพื่อให้บุคคลที่มีการ Name ชื่อไว้แล้วมาแทน”
รายงานข่าวแจ้งด้วยว่า ทั้งนายธนพร และนายดิศกุล ผ่านการสรรหาเข้ามาดำรงตำแหน่งเลขาธิการ สกสค. และเลขาธิการคุรุสภา ตามลำดับ ในยุคที่ นายณัฏฐพล ทีปสุวรรณ เป็น รมว.ศึกษาธิการ ก่อนที่ น.ส.ตรีนุช จะเข้ามาดำรงตำแหน่ง รมว.ศึกษาธิการ แทนเมื่อช่วงเดือน มี.ค.64 หลังจากนั้นก็มีกระแสข่าวภายในกระทรวงศึกษาธิการว่า มีความพยายามจากผู้มีอำนาจกดดันทั้งนายธนพร และนายดิศกุล ให้ลาออกจากตำแหน่งมาโดยตลอด
สำหรับรายนามบอร์ด สกสค.ปัจจุบัน ประกอบด้วย 1.น.ส.ตรีนุช รมว.ศึกษาธิการ​ ในฐานะประธาน, 2.นายสุภัทร จำปาทอง ปลัดกระทรวงศึกษาธิการ, 3.นายอัมพร พินะสา เลขาธิการคณะกรรมการการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน, 4.นายสุเทพ แก่งสันเทียะ เลขาธิการคณะกรรมการ การอาชีวศึกษา, 5.นายอรรถพล สังขวาสี เลขาธิการสภาการศึกษา, 6.ผู้แทนของ นายประวิต เอราวรรณ​์ เลขาธิการ​คณะกรรมการข้าราชการครูและบุคลากรทางการศึกษา, 7.นายประวิต เอราวรรณ​์ รักษาการเลขาธิการคุรุสภา, 8.นายสัมพันธ์ ฤทธิเดช เลขาธิการคณะกรรมการการอุดมศึกษา และ 9.นายธนพร เลขาธิการ สกสค. ในฐานะเลขานุการบอร์ด สกสค.
อย่างไรก็ตาม เมื่อวาระการประชุมมีเพียงการพิจารณาแต่งตั้งผู้รักษาการแทนเลขาธิการ สกสค.เพียงวาระเดียว ก็ส่งผลให้นายธนพรไม่สามารถเข้าร่วมประชุมได้ เนื่องจากเป็นผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียโดยตรง
ทั้งนี้ในกระทรวงศึกษาธิการมีการตั้งข้อสังเกตด้วยว่า บอร์ด สกสค.ส่วนใหญ่ล้วนเป็นข้าราชการกระทรวงศึกษาธิการที่เติบโตขึ้นมาเป็นผู้บริหารระดับสูง (ซี 10-11) ในยุคที่นายณัฏฐพล เป็น รมว.ศึกษาธิการ ทั้งสิ้น อาทิ นายประวิต ที่เติบโตอย่างรวดเร็ว หลังโอนย้ายมาจากกระทรวงการอุดมศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัย และนวัตกรรม (อว.) ที่เข้ามาเป็นรองศึกษาธิการภาค จากนั้นได้เป็นผู้ตรวจราชการกระทรวงฯก่อนจะได้เป็นเลขาธิการคณะกรรมการข้าราชการครูและบุคลากรทางการศึกษาในยุคนายณัฏฐพล กระทั่งได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้รักษาการเลขาธิการคุรุสภาอีกตำแหน่งในยุค น.ส.ตรีนุช จึงเป็นที่จับตาในกระทรวงศึกษาธิการว่า บอร์ดชุดนี้จะร่วมลงมติกับ น.ส.ตรีนุช เพื่อตั้งผู้รักษาการแทน นายธนพร ซึ่งได้รับการสรรหาเป็นเลขาธิการ สกสค.ในยุคนายณัฏฐพลเช่นกันยังอยู่ในตำแหน่งหรือไม่.

Ethan Crumbley will plead insanity over Michigan school shooting that killed four students

Michigan school shooting suspect Ethan Crumbley is planning to plead insanity over the deadly massacre that killed four students.

Court documents, filed by his attorneys on Thursday, state that the 15-year-old suspected gunman “intends to assert the defense of insanity at the time of the alleged offense and gives notice of his intention to claim such a defense.”

Mr Crumbley will now be required to undergo a psychiatric exam ahead of a trial.

The teenager is charged as an adult with 24 counts including four counts of first-degree murder and one count of terrorism over the 30 November mass shooting at Oxford High School, after he allegedly took a handgun to school and murdered his classmates.

Four students were killed in the attack – Hana St. Juliana, 14, Tate Myre, 16, Madisyn Baldwin, 17, and Justin Shilling, 17 – and seven other people were wounded in America’s deadliest high school shooting since the Parkland massacre in 2018.

Mr Crumbley’s parents James and Jennifer Crumbley are also charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter after they allegedly bought their son the firearm as an early Christmas present and left it accessible to him despite multiple warning signs about his behaviour.

News of their son’s intention to plead insanity comes the same day a new lawsuit was filed and just days after Oxford High School reopened for the first time on Monday in the wake of the mass shooting.

Prosecutors said Mr Crumbley exited a bathroom in the school with a firearm which his parents had bought for him as an early Christmas present just days earlier.

The suspect then allegedly opened fire on his fellow students in the hallway as students were changing classes.

He surrendered to law enforcement officers as they arrived on the scene.

The motive for the mass shooting is not clear.

However, prosecutors have revealed a disturbing pattern of behaviour in the days and weeks leading up to the attack.

One day before the massacre, a teacher found Mr Crumbley searching for ammunition on his phone, according to prosecutors.

School staff attempted to alert his parents James and Jennifer Crumbley but messages went ignored and the 15-year-old was allowed to remain in the school building.

On the morning of the shooting, officials said another teacher then found a drawing on the teenager’s desk of a handgun, a bullet and a person being shot.

“The thoughts won’t stop, help me” and “blood everywhere” were scrawled on the note.

That time, his parents were called in to the school and a meeting was held with them, their son and school officials.

The teenager claimed that the drawings were simply designs for a video game, said prosecutors.

His parents fought to have him returned to class, prosecutors said, and were told to get him counselling within 48 hours.

Mr Crumbley was allowed to return to class without his backpack and locker being searched and, just a few hours later, allegedly opened fire in the school.

A lawsuit brought by the families of survivors also alleges that he took bullets to school the day before the attack and showed them off to his classmates.

The suit also claims that he brought a bird’s head to school in a mason jar filled with yellow liquid and left it the bathrooms three weeks before the 30 November massacre.

He pleaded not guilty at an arraignment in December.

Days after the shooting, prosecutors took the unprecedented step to charge the teenager’s parents over the mass shooting.

The couple allegedly bought the gun used in the attack – a Sig Sauer 9mm, model SP 2022 – for their son as a Christmas present four days earlier on Black Friday and left the gun accessible to him.

The 15-year-old allegedly boasted about “my new beauty” on his Instagram account, prosecutors said.

His parents then failed to remove him from the school or to take any action despite the warning signs about his behaviour, said prosecutors.

When news of the shooting spread, Jennifer Crumbley allegedly texted her son “Ethan, don’t do it”.

Meanwhile, James Crumbley called 911 to report a gun was missing and to say that he believed his son to be the shooter, officials said.

In a bizarre turn of events, the couple appeared to go on the run after the prosecutors announced charges against them.

They were tracked down and arrested hiding out in a warehouse in Detroit, where they had withdrawn $6,600 in cash, sold their horses, and bought four burner phones.

They have both pleaded not guilty to the charges and are being held on

Major Shake-up As Nigerian Navy Appoints, Redeploys 54 Rear Admirals

The Nigerian Navy has released the posting of 54 Rear Admirals following the recent promotion of senior officers in the service.

Director of Information, Naval Headquarters, Commodore Suleman Dahun, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

SaharaReporters also obtained a document showing the breakdown and outlines of the names and offices assigned to the senior officers. 

According to the navy, Rear Admiral Saidu Garba, formerly Navy Secretary, was appointed Chief of Policy and Plans, Naval Headquarters, while Rear Admiral Barabutemegha Gbassa, formerly the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command has been made the Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters.

Rear Admiral Sanusi Ibrahim, formerly Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, moved to Naval Headquarters as Navy Secretary, while Rear Admiral Sileranda Lassa, formerly the Flag Officer Commanding Logistics Command, was appointed Group Managing Director, Navy Holdings Limited.

The statement disclosed that Rear Admiral Muhammed Nagenu, erstwhile Chief of Logistics, Naval Headquarters, was appointed Chief of Defence Administration at the Defence Headquarters and Rear Admiral Solomon Agada, formerly the Director Peacekeeping Operations, Naval Headquarters has now been appointed Chief of Training and Operations.

The postings also affected Rear Admiral Murtala Bashir, who moved from Naval War College as Commandant to National Defence College also as Commandant, while Rear Admiral Adeseye Ayobanjo, formerly the Director Maritime Domain Awareness at the Naval Headquarters, would resume as Chief of Defence Civil Military Cooperation, Defence Headquarters.

Similarly, Rear Admiral Okon Eyo, former Director of Training, Defence Headquarters was appointed Chief of Naval Transformation, Naval Headquarters while Rear Admiral Perry Onwuzulike, formerly the Director Lessons Learnt, Naval Headquarters was made the Chief of Naval Safety and Standards, Naval Headquarters.

Rear Admiral Monday Unurhiere, formerly Chief Staff Officer, Naval Training Command has been reappointed to Naval Training Command as Flag Officer Commanding.

Following also, Rear Admiral Joseph Akpan, formerly Director Personnel Release was reappointed at the Naval Headquarters as Director of Policy, while Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu, erstwhile Director of Manning, Naval Headquaters has been appointed Flag Officer Commanding, Logistics Command, and at the same time, Rear Admiral Tanko Pani, a former Admiral Superintendent Naval Ordnance Depot was appointed Director of Plans, Defence Headquarters.

Rear Admiral Akinga Ayafa, formerly Chief of Naval Safety and Standards, resumed as Flag Officer Commanding Naval Doctrine Command, while Rear Admiral Nuhu Bala was reappointed at the Defence Headquarters as Director of Transformation.

Rear Admiral Vincent Okeke, former Director Transformation, Naval Headquarters, movedto the Defence Headquarters as Director of Logistics, while Rear Admiral Danjuma Moses,also resumed at the Defence Headquarters as Director of Training.

The reorganisation also affected Rear Admiral Yakubu Wambai, formerly the Director of Operations Naval Headquarters, now appointed Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command and Rear Admiral Emmanuel Beckley resumed as Admiral Superintendent Naval Ordnance Depot.
